Abounding Joy pre-race analysis with Sean Tugel

Here we go, the 2020 Stablemates Racing Syndicate is ready to get the season started with stakes action.  Abounding Joy is entered in the Interborough Stakes at Aqueduct and is installed at 5/1 on the morning line.  Abounding Joy is a filly that we had high hopes for in 2019 before going to the sidelines, she returns to Aqueduct the site of her best career race and is now in the care of the hall of fame conditioner Bill Mott.

Saguaro Row the 2-1 morning line favorite is a stakes winner over the course, winning the Pumpkin Pie Stakes in November and most recently 2nd in the   G3 Go For Wand Stakes  in December beaten by G1 winner Spiced Perfection.  Our Circle of Love is the 5/2 second choice coming off a 2nd place finish in the Garland of Roses beaten by Pauseforthecause, who Abounding Joy beat by 3 lengths in her victory at Aqueduct.

Abounding Joy has been training well and we expect a good performance.  The race is at 7 furlongs and a very difficult distance to return off a layoff, many in the field have been running over the last several months and will have a fitness advantage.  Her post position is ideal, if she is able to break well Junior Alvarado should be able to sit a nice stalking trip on the outside and be in the mix turning for home.  Abounding Joy could get tired the last eighth having not raced in 234 days but we expect a big effort.  Good luck to everyone!
