MR.WALDEN. IF YOU TRULY ARE LOOKING FOR THE RIGHT JOCK. YOU NEED TO GET JOSE LEZCANO. THE HOTTEST RIDER IN THE COUNTRY RIGHT NOW, HE IS GREAT WITH CLOSER AS HE RODE ROYAL DELTA WHEN SHE WAS A CLOSER. HE HAS RODE IN THE DERBY BEFORE WITH GREAT SUCCESS FOR ZITO IN THE DERBY ON DEEP CLOSERS. I TRULY WAS DISAPPOINTED TO SEE JAVIER CHOSE ANOTHER HORSE. I WAS GOING TO WAGER A SUBSTANCIAL AMOUNT OF MONEY ON YOUR HORSE WITH JAVIER RIDING AND STILL BELEIVE HE CAN WIN WITH A VERY PATIENT RIDER. IF YOU CANT GET LEZCANO THEN THERE IS ONLY ONE OTHER CHOICE AND THATS MIKE SMITH. OTHER THEN THAT WE HAVE NO SHOT. PLEASE FIND LEZCANOS PHONE NUMBER AND CALL HIM TODAY!!!!!!!

  • Karen Perrone Posted at April 15, 2013 at 10:39 am

MIKE SMITH!! You need to know the derby because its like no other race, Mike knows the derby, how not to get trapped, how to win w a horse that comes from behind, MS won’t have the derby day jitters, will relax the horse and nobody is better w Revolutionarys running style than MS. Rosie is great, Calvin has done a lot I like him but he’s ok, but the intelligent choice not choosing w heart or luck is Mike Smith. Ya can never play horses by using your heart.

I watched a race at Keeneland last week when Rosie rode Gatherings. The horse was from England and as the starter stated they do not have handlers in the gate at the start of their races, but there was one in the gate at this race. When the gate opened Gatherings reared up in the gate and got a very late start. Rosie kept her cool and did a great job as the commentaters marveled at her ability to bring Gatherings back to win the race. This is one example of why I believe that Rosie is a perfect fit for ANY horse, she shows no fear and can combat any situation!!!

With No Doubt it should be: Rosie Napravnik. In my opinion, not only would Revolutionary win the Kentucky Derby, but Rosie would be the First Female to win the Kentucky Derby!! She already has accomplished being the First Female to win the Kentucky Oaks and WinStar could be the one to help her accomplish this dream, being the 1st female to win the Derby !! GO ROSIE 🙂

  • Deb Gellman Posted at April 15, 2013 at 9:13 am

It would be great to watch Calvin Borel aboard Revolutionary. He won the first Kentucky Derby for Winstar and he can get a second! No one knows Churchill like BO-RAIL!

  • Grace Destefano Posted at April 14, 2013 at 11:26 pm

  • Paddy Head Posted at April 14, 2013 at 11:10 pm

  • LINDA MARIE Posted at April 14, 2013 at 10:21 pm

I WOULD LOVE TO SEE ROSIE RIDE REVOLUTIONARY …SHE IS A TOP CLASS JOCKEY AND SHOULD REALLY BE RIDING IN THE DERBY ESPECIALLY SINCE SHANGHAI BOBBY HAS BEEN SIDELINED.

  • Todd Napravnik Posted at April 14, 2013 at 9:30 pm

    Lets go Rosie!!!!

  • Jenny Faherty Posted at April 14, 2013 at 9:23 pm

Rosie is your jockey, for sure!

  • richard guida Posted at April 14, 2013 at 9:15 pm

Many people are followers of this horse. Many people, as myself, have wagered a lot of money in “futures” on his winning the Derby. Of course, much more is at stake in winning for both you and the farm. I would only hope you view these “comments” with discretion. How many (people) are simply fans of a certain jockey? How many people want Rosie to win just to make history for women? How many people think Revolutionary can only run like Zenyatta, and think Mike Smith the perfect fit? ALL of the final three choices are excellent riders (IMO); it is for you to weigh whose style, strengths and technique fits this horse best. YOU must choose, not US. This “poll” is just a fun game…”bravo”, but let’s stop at that. Rosie did nothing wrong on a horse (Shanghai Bobby) that IMO was easy to ride; Mike Smith is very strong, came inches short of “timing” the perfect Derby ride last year, and was equally astute for pulling up War Academy on Saturday; Calvin Borel has WON the only Derby you ever ran in, on a horse most still have “reservations” about. Is what he did so forgettable as to subject him to a “popular opinion poll”? His current record at Oaklawn, on horses NOT exactly from premier barns, speaks well for for his present “form” and his knowledge of Churchill is practically mythical.

    • Janice Kehler Hollister Posted at April 14, 2013 at 10:25 pm

I always thought it was the trainer that selected the jockey. Go, Revolutionary!!

      • richard guida Posted at April 14, 2013 at 11:55 pm

The owner pays the bills; they always hold the “trump” card.

  • Robin J. Duerr Posted at April 14, 2013 at 8:38 pm

It’s all about Drosselmeyer … Michael Earl will get the WIN with his style

  • Andrew Siemsen Posted at April 14, 2013 at 8:01 pm

    Go Rosie!

  • Karen Perrone Posted at April 14, 2013 at 7:14 pm

Also I think Mike Smith is the best jockey with his running style.. He has the best race clock in his head and times it well.

  • margaret puccia Posted at April 14, 2013 at 7:12 pm

    Obvious choice is Rosie!!

  • Karen Perrone Posted at April 14, 2013 at 7:09 pm

Jockey mike smith all the way!! When it comes to the derby I don’t care what the odds are but I do know w that type of race you need someone who has been there, won’t get stuck on the rail, relax the horse and WIN, good feelings w that combo.

  • Sara Escudero Posted at April 14, 2013 at 6:31 pm

Always has her horses placed perfectly which is key in the derby. Will bring a great deal of publicity to the sport.

  • John Crain Posted at April 14, 2013 at 6:21 pm

I was hoping to have an “others” space so I could vote for Willie Martinez

  • toni tyler Posted at April 14, 2013 at 5:54 pm

Who elso wins from 19th post? Let’s break ‘glass-ceiling’ f/Derby + Rosie is a very serious master of route.

Mike Smith is a Class Act!

  • Brian Harrison Posted at April 14, 2013 at 5:06 pm

Go with Rosie for the roses this year. She’s the winningest jockey in the country thus far this year in number of races won and, I believe, number of stakes races won.

  • Diane Regis Posted at April 14, 2013 at 4:55 pm

I like Rosie, but Calvin’s history proves he knows how to get it done.

  • Luiz Miranda Posted at April 14, 2013 at 4:23 pm

Dear sir or Madame,Its an honor to be part of this contest in choosing a top jockey for such a FINE Thoroughbred in this War Pass colt. Calvin Borel deserves a good mount in the Derby 2013.

  • Alexandra Boyd Posted at April 14, 2013 at 4:18 pm

    The Derby king Calvin Borel

  • mary cornwell Posted at April 14, 2013 at 4:11 pm

    Lets Go Calvin!!

  • Faye McAnelly Posted at April 14, 2013 at 1:59 pm

Calvin Borel is the obvious choice for many reasons. His 3 Kentucky Derby wins speak for themselves. Is there anyone who knows their way around that track better than Calvin? I think not! GO CALVIN!!!

    • Nancy Schwab Posted at April 14, 2013 at 7:14 pm

      He won with Supersaver, too.

  • zerolavsan zarolavsan Posted at April 14, 2013 at 1:53 pm

  • Cindy Faherty Posted at April 14, 2013 at 1:47 pm

Keep in mind Rosie started out in Steeplechasing, riding long races, its in her blood and she knows haw to get the most and the best out of her horses for the long distances. Go Rosie!

  • SHANE IRISH Posted at April 14, 2013 at 1:38 pm

Calvin are Mike would be great. They both took 50-1 shots and won in the Derby. Mike Smith won the Belmont and Breeder’s Cup with Drosselmeyer. Mike rode him for his only 2 big wins. Calvin would be great. We already saw Revolutionary worked the rail in the Withers.

    • Nancy Schwab Posted at April 14, 2013 at 7:15 pm
